This project, which we can classify as experimental, inserts itself in the ambit of research about the mask, making use specifically of the gestural theatre techniques. Starting off from a series of masks of the authorship of Renzo Antonello, expressive masks, with vocational training for the mimic work and pantomime, the intention is to tell a story to all kinds of public.The show tells a story about a character that is “Otário doing” an English tourist that comes on holiday to Portugal.The adventure of this tourist in Portugal is used as an excuse, as an evocation of a series of common places in our daily life, including some incursions by our national history.Establishing a parallel with the cartoon language, the show proposes an approach well humoured of the subject that is used for the “cartoon” style and BD strips.The objective of this project is, beyond the entertainment, it is to develop the figurative capacity of the small public and not only visualize spaces and situations suggested by the mimic of the actors.
