Portuguese Masks: Winter Cycle André Gago Collection
This exhibition presents a collection of traditional masks from the north of Portugal collected by the actor André Gago. These masks are used in the called “winter cycle” in the popular holidays such as the Caretos, Santo Estevão, do Chocalheiro or the Carnaval de Podence from Lazarim, pagan festivities, originally associated with agricultural or passage rituals .
